Jenny Spencer Innovative Dance instructorJenny Spencer is honored to be on the staff of Innovative Dance. Jenny was raised in Mill City, Oregon but spent every weekend in Portland studying under Sally Mack, Julian Stites, and at 12 she was invited to train under the Oregon Ballet Company.

She attended Oregon State University where her late Great Aunt Betty founded the Dance Program at OSU, sending her into company work with The Jefferson Dance Company for one year. From there she took off for NY to pursue her dream to dance professionally.  

Little did she know the late Anne Reinking would take notice of her strong classical ballet technique combined with her versatile training in all forms of dance. It was Anne Reinking who put her in her first Tony Award Winning Broadway Show “CHICAGO!” Her career soared from there, landing her over 10 Broadway Shows and starring in ALL of them! 

Her impressive long standing career stems from 20 years as a Dance Educator, Off Broadway Choreographer and Iconic Triple Threat Performer in Tony Award Winning Shows such as The Producers, Fosse, Chicago and many other Blockbuster Original Broadway Musicals.  

Jenny graced the stage starring opposite legendary actors: Mathew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Michale Crawford, Anne Reinking, Bernadette Peters, Rene Auberjonois, Ben Vereen, Joel Grey, Gwen Verdon, Bebe Neuwirth just to name a few.

Jenny Choreographed the Off Broadway Musical “Forever Dusty” at the World Stages in NY capturing every nuance from the late Dusty Springfield and her work was showered with praise!  

Jenny’s show list includes: Chicago (all roles) Side Show (Bud), Annie Get Your Gun (Dolly Tate), Fosse (Lead singer with Ben Vereen), The Producers (Ulla), All Shook Up (Sandra), Romeo and Juliet (Nurse), Applause (Debbie), BBB-Off Broadway comedy (originating 8 different characters, NY Times write up!), Dance of The Vampires (Magda), Dracula, The Henry Mancini Project (Lead singer and dancer), and 42 Street European Tour.

Her passion in life is DANCE and her mission is to teach dancers how to be the most confident well versed performer success in the professional world of dance.  

Jenny is the CEO and creative force behind a new curriculum coming out soon to implement into dance studios, enhancing the way dancers perceive their dance numbers, skyrocketing them to greater heights in their performance level.
